Memoryscape

I like to walk to my studio. The walking has become integral to the process of making my work. It creates a space to simply be, to absorb the energy of the weather and the day, the light and the greenery of nature. Memories surface. Begun in the spring, Memoryscape, its scale perhaps captures some of the optimism, energy and vibrancy of new life in the sheer physicality of its making.

The assemblages involve a construction process; the bringing together of disparate materials with a limited palette. Untitled Assemblage has been created using found everyday recyclable objects selected for their colour and textural qualities. These are combined with fragments of earlier paintings to create something new from the mundane. There is so much beauty in everyday packaging.
