The Birds
This work addresses biodiversity loss in the UK, - specifically the decline of our native birds. An untouched birdfeeder standing eerily redundant in a barren garden is a sad totem to the
38 million birds that have disappeared from our skies in the last 50 years. 48% of all our native bird species are in decline, largely due to habitat loss. I hope this drawing communicates the sinister silence of a world without birdsong, and remind viewers of our shared responsibility to protect our wildlife.
