I Object

15 March - 7 April 2018

Solo Exhibition curated by Mark McLeish

I describe myself as an Artist as collector, working with an accomplished methodology of working that interviews the objects I seek and find. My work is about following each piece and being intuitively open to an unspoken dialogue that spans a breath of choices and unknown exit points.

For this exhibition you can expect:

  • The reflections from a surface locates a different form in the gallery.

  • The focus of a contour line blurs a colour to a hew behind it.

  • Sitting to see an underside highlights a neighbouring shadow.

  • Material listings encourages search for tarantula skins that are not noticeable.

  • Is this part of the exhibition?

  • The familiar understanding is disorientated by a given title.

  • The time consuming technique is examined in contrast to an overlooked tiny work in the corner

  • The daylight illuminates the refractive material seen between noon and 2pm British summer time.

  • A second viewing prompts discussion with a companion.

  • A selfie is taken with something that is humorous.
