ONE DAY ONLY
Sat 5th October 6-10pm

This immersive installation will transport visitors to a dystopian future where nature and technology coexist in an uneasy alliance. Set within the familiar confines of an office space, this exhibition will challenge our perceptions of progress, environment, and cultural identity through the lens of Afro-futurism and cyberpunk aesthetics. As visitors step into this otherworldly office, they will find themselves surrounded by a peculiar fusion of the organic and the synthetic. The lush vegetation will intertwine with retro-futuristic technology, creating a visual metaphor for the ongoing struggle between natural and artificial worlds.
CRT monitors will flicker to life, displaying Afrofuturistic visuals that pulse with the rhythm of a reimagined future. At the same time, UV lighting will bathe the space in an ethereal glow, blurring the lines between reality and imagination.
This installation will invite viewers to explore the complexities of a world where past and future collide, where the wisdom of nature meets the relentless march of technology. Through this unique blend of elements, we aim to provoke thought and discussion about the role of
cultural heritage, the impact of technological advancement, and the enduring power of nature in shaping our collective future. As visitors navigate this dystopian office-turned-jungle, they will be encouraged to consider the echoes of the past that resonate through antiquated technology, the potential of the future represented in the Afrofuturistic imagery, and the timeless presence of nature that persists despite it all.
